Kayode A. Akomolafe

Kayode A. Akomolafe is an accomplished technology executive, digital transformation specialist and business leader with over 25 years of professional experience spanning financial services, enterprise technology, cloud computing and strategic business development. He has held senior leadership positions at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft, contributing to enterprise technology adoption and the development of digital infrastructure across Nigeria and West Africa.
His professional career began in information technology engineering and infrastructure management, including technical roles at Arit of Africa and Gaslink Nigeria Limited. He subsequently joined Zenith Bank Plc in 2003, where he served for seven years and rose to become Head of the Messaging, Security and Collaboration Unit. During this period, he contributed to the development and management of enterprise technology systems, data centre infrastructure, network architecture and information security solutions supporting the bank's operations.
In 2010, Mr. Akomolafe joined Microsoft, where he spent approximately 12 years in various technical, commercial and executive leadership positions. His responsibilities included serving as Senior Account Technology Consultant, Principal Technology Consultant, Director of Financial Services and Capital Markets, and Director of Public Sector Digital Transformation. He worked with major enterprise and government customers, supporting technology modernisation, cloud adoption and business transformation initiatives.
In July 2022, he joined Amazon Web Services, where he served as Commercial Business Leader and Enterprise Business Digital Transformation Director, with responsibilities encompassing enterprise cloud adoption and strategic customer engagement. He played a significant role in developing AWS's enterprise business in West Africa, supporting major organisations in adopting cloud infrastructure, strengthening digital resilience and improving operational performance. His work contributed to expanding enterprise cloud opportunities and strengthening AWS's engagement with Nigeria's business community.
During his tenure at AWS, Mr. Akomolafe participated in high-level engagements aimed at advancing Nigeria's digital economy, including the company's December 2023 meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima. He has also contributed to industry discussions on artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure and data centre optimisation. At the 2026 IoT West Africa Conference and Data Centre Cloud Expo, he highlighted the potential of digital twin technologies to improve infrastructure efficiency, reduce operational risks and strengthen data centre performance.
Mr. Akomolafe is also a Founding Partner of GrayCom Technology, a technology consulting company focused on enterprise digital systems, cloud infrastructure, software development and technology strategy. Through his work, he supports organisations seeking to modernise their operations and build scalable digital capabilities.
He holds an Executive Master's degree in Digital Transformation and Innovation Leadership from IE Business School, Spain. He has also undertaken professional development in business strategy and financial management at INSEAD and holds several Microsoft technical certifications covering enterprise infrastructure, systems administration and technology solutions.
