Adedeji Owonibi

Mr. Adedeji Owonibi is an accomplished technology entrepreneur, blockchain specialist, financial forensics expert and digital asset professional with over two decades of experience spanning banking, financial investigations, regulatory compliance and emerging financial technologies. He is the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Convexity Technologies Limited, a Nigerian technology company specialising in blockchain infrastructure, digital financial solutions and technology-enabled transparency. He is also a Senior Partner at A&D Forensics, a firm providing financial crime investigation, cryptocurrency compliance and digital forensics services.
His professional career began in Nigeria's financial services industry, where he acquired extensive experience in banking operations, financial risk management, fraud investigation and regulatory compliance. He subsequently established A&D Forensics in 2010, developing the firm into a specialist provider of financial investigation, blockchain analytics and digital asset compliance services. Through the firm, he has worked with financial institutions, government agencies and law enforcement organisations across Africa to investigate financial misconduct, trace illicit cryptocurrency transactions and strengthen institutional capacity to combat financial crime.
Beyond humanitarian technology, Mr. Owonibi has contributed to the development of blockchain-based financial infrastructure in Nigeria. He played a significant role in the development of cNGN, a naira-backed stablecoin designed to support digital payments and financial transactions. His involvement has included supporting regulatory compliance frameworks, operational processes and institutional partnerships intended to strengthen confidence in blockchain-based financial services.
Mr. Owonibi has also contributed to national and international discussions on virtual asset regulation and financial crime prevention. He served as a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission's committee on virtual assets and financial technology regulatory frameworks and participated in technical engagements supporting Nigeria's National Blockchain Strategy under the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). Internationally, he has contributed to Global Digital Finance's work on Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering standards and industry discussions supporting the development of the InterVASP Messaging Standard (IVMS101) for virtual asset transfers.
His professional activities include providing specialised training in cryptocurrency investigations, blockchain analytics and financial crime compliance to financial institutions and law enforcement agencies. Through A&D Forensics, he has supported capacity-building programmes involving Nigerian security agencies, financial institutions and regulatory organisations in other African countries, including Zambia. His work has focused on strengthening the ability of investigators and compliance professionals to identify, trace and respond to financial crimes involving digital assets.
