Tomiwa Aladekomo

Tomiwa Aladekomo is an accomplished media executive, digital business strategist and technology entrepreneur with extensive professional experience in media management, digital transformation, marketing and business development across Africa and North America. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Big Cabal Media, the parent company of TechCabal and Zikoko, two prominent digital media platforms covering Africa's technology industry, business landscape and youth culture.

His professional career includes significant experience in international media, marketing and corporate strategy. He worked with organisations in North America, including Atlantic Records and The Futures Company, where he contributed to strategic projects for multinational brands such as Coca-Cola and Unilever. He subsequently returned to Nigeria, where he held senior positions in digital marketing and media management.

Between 2013 and 2016, Mr. Aladekomo served as Senior Digital Manager at Nigerian Breweries Plc, where he led digital marketing initiatives and contributed to strengthening the company's engagement with consumers through digital platforms. He subsequently became Managing Director of Ventra Media Group, a digital media and marketing agency, where he oversaw business operations, digital publishing and content development. During this period, he also led initiatives that contributed to the transformation of The Guardian Nigeria's digital media operations.

In 2018, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Big Cabal Media, where he has led the company's business expansion and development of new media products. Under his leadership, the company diversified its revenue streams, expanded its digital advertising operations and established Cabal Creative, a content production and creative services studio, alongside TC Insights, a research and advisory platform focused on Africa's digital economy. In March 2022, Big Cabal Media secured $2.3 million in seed funding to support its growth and the development of new digital products.

Mr. Aladekomo has also championed initiatives that connect technology entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and business leaders across Africa. Through TechCabal, he has supported the development of Moonshot by TechCabal, a pan-African technology conference launched in 2023. The conference has grown into a major gathering for discussions on digital innovation, technology investment, entrepreneurship and the future of Africa's technology ecosystem.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University, United States, and a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology from Columbia University, New York. He is a 2013 Fellow of the Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellowship, an executive leadership development programme organised by the African Leadership Institute. He has also participated in the Stanford Seed Transformation Programme at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Aladekomo serves as a Non-Executive Director of Chams Holding Company Plc and has contributed to initiatives supporting Africa's technology and creative industries, including the Africa Tech and Creative Group. His professional interests include digital entrepreneurship, media innovation, institutional development and the expansion of opportunities for African businesses.
